Is Propellerhead Reason 5 the future of music production software? I've just checked out the Kong Drum Designer video. The Kong Drum Designer is a new drum machine for Reason. Here's what the boys at propellerhead had to say:

It's looks like an MPC but it's not an MPC it's a beast of a machine. It has got 16 Pads and there's one sound on each pad, a sampler, plays rex loops and the rex player has got advance slice trig modes, also has sound altering support generators and effects. no it isn't, reason won't be the future of anything unless it starts supporting VSTs, end of.

i'm very excited about it. in my opinion it is the future of music production software because you can use it to make all possible genres.

@dynamitri, you're spot on there, i've tried the beta version and it seems like a whole lot of fuss for not a lot of action. the sequencer still need work, there should be more support for keyboard shortcut to improve the workflow, and it definately needs a better way of handling sampled audio...
